Costumière of Balls and Dreams
(Le Bal de Sophie)
(Création de costumes 18e et 19e -Le Bal de Sophie)
They call me Sophie, historical costumière… and embroiderer of dreams.
I conjure costumes from the 18th and 19th centuries, so that the centuries may still dance together.
In my atelier, eras mingle like guests at a masquerade:
Louis XV bows to Empress Eugénie, while the Duchess of Orléans trades a mischievous glance with a powdered marquise.

✂️ My Journey
Since childhood, I have been fascinated by ancient silhouettes: sculpted corsets, secret petticoats, sumptuous gowns.
As a little girl, I dreamed of opening the wardrobes of Versailles.
As an adult, I chose to recreate them.
I studied, stitched, unstitched, began again…
Until at last, bespoke historical costumes were born — where History flirts with seduction.
🌱 My Values
Here, you will find no throwaway costumes: each piece is a work of craftsmanship, stitched with heritage techniques.
The fabrics are chosen with care — eco-sourced textiles, upcycled materials, trusted European suppliers.
For true craftsmanship is time, precision… and a soul woven into every thread.
⏳ My world
The 18th century charms me with its libertine lightness.
The 19th intoxicates me with its crinolines and its romantic dramas.
From the robe à la française to the Empire gown, from the Victorian crinoline to the marquis’s attire, I recreate silhouettes that are not frozen copies of the past, but invitations to let History dance in the present.

🤝 My craft
To those who step into my wardrobe, I do not offer merely a garment.
I offer a bespoke costume. A role, a character, a secret to wear upon your skin.
You become a marquis, a duchess, or the heroine of a novel —
and I hold the needle while applauding your grand entrance.
They say a corset can break a heart…
I believe it makes it beat faster.
And if a fan slips from your hands?
It is surely because I have already seduced you. 😉
