FAQ – 18th & 19th Century Historical Costumes
Why order a costume from Le Bal de Sophie?
(Your questions, our answers.)
"The price seems high to me..."
My creations are made entirely in France, using carefully selected ethical fabrics. Each piece requires between 40 and 100 hours of work. I also offer payment in installments, free of charge, for added peace of mind.
“The delays are long, I’m afraid I won’t receive them on time.”
Creation takes time—because every detail counts. But don't panic! Deadlines are clear and defined in advance (4 to 6 weeks including delivery times, depending on the project), and I offer an express service upon request, based on our schedule.
“How do I take my measurements remotely?”
You're not alone: You'll receive an illustrated measurement sheet. And if you prefer, you can schedule a personalized video consultation—it's simple and reassuring.
“What if I don’t like the result?”
I'll guide you every step of the way: You'll receive fabric suggestions and visuals, and we'll validate each choice together. You can also check out customer testimonials and the photo gallery in the "Costumes, Stories" section.
"I don't know anything about historical costumes..."
No need to be an expert! Tell me what event you want to shine at (prom, wedding, reenactment, show...) and I'll help you choose the style, shape, and details that are appropriate for the era.
"I prefer to talk to a real person, not just fill out a form."
Here, you speak directly to the designer. No middleman. You can send me a voice message, book a call, or stop by the workshop if you're in the area.
